The No. 12 Ducks played host to the Seattle University Redhawks in a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 3, 2012, taking both games 10-8 and 8-0, bringing their conference record to 36-12. Seattle took a quick 4-0 lead in the first game, holding a 8-3 lead in the sixth when the Ducks’ offense came to the rescue. Oregon scored six runs over the final two innings, with senior Kelsey Chambers batting in the winning run on a bases-loaded single.
In the second game, the Ducks continued their offensive prowess with a four-run forth and a three-run fifth inning, giving them the victory — immediately due to a mercy rule. Ducks’ pitcher Karissa Hovinga recorded her twelfth win of the season with only one hit in five scoreless innings.
