The Ducks men’s basketball team found more success Monday night in a route of Jacksonville State when they improved to 4-0. Tony Woods was a key contributor as he went for a career high 17 points to go with his five blocked shots. Kazemi had eight rebounds to lead the Ducks.
After a monster 38-27 effort in a loss to Portland State, Jillian Alleyne was selected as Pac-12 Freshman of the week. After the predicted top scorer, Lexi Peterson, suffered a season-ending knee injury, the Ducks were in need of some help. Alleyne certainly gave them that as she broke school records in both points and rebounds to go along with her four steals and three blocks.
Yesterday, Oregon baseball head coach George Horton agreed with the university on a five-year contract extension. The deal is five years at a base pay of $200,000 per year, which goes along with a $250,000 per year in guaranteed salary supplements.
“I am honored to be bestowed the great opportunity to continue as the head baseball coach at the University of Oregon,” Horton said. “I have great admiration for our athletic department’s outstanding administration and fellow coaches. I specifically want to thank, Rob Mullens and Jim Bartko for the trust and confidence they have shown in my current coaching staff to continue the development of this baseball program.”
The Ducks volleyball team heads into their final week of the season as No. 7 UCLA heads to town Tuesday night. Oregon will finish their regular season in a Civil War matchup in Corvallis on Friday.
