After a tumultuous off-season, the Ducks’ club hockey team returns home Friday night to host the UCLA Bruins. Oregon (2-0, 2-0 Pac-8)@@http://www.oregonduckshockey.com/@@ enters the game after a pair of blowout wins against Washington State last weekend while the Bruins (0-2, 0-0 Pac-8)@@above link@@ have dropped a pair of non-conference games to start the season. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at the Lane County Ice Center@@http://www.laneeventscenter.org/IceCenter/@@ with the series finale slated for Saturday with a 10 p.m. start.
The Ducks had no trouble scoring in their first two games, netting 22 goals with junior Connor McBride@@directory@@ leading the way with six goals through the Ducks’ first two games. Oregon has also already spent 28 minutes in the penalty box this year,@@http://achahockey.org/player_roster.php?team_id=13145&league_id=1061@@ but those penalties have led to just one power-play goal for the Ducks’ opponents, a marked improvement from the Ducks’ early season penalty killing woes last year.
