Day 4 brought rain back to the 2012 Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field. The days events finished with one of the most anticipated races of the weeks, the men’s 800-meter run. Favorite and Oregon Track Club runner Nick Symmonds took first place, with Khadevis Robinson and Duane Solomon Jr. rounding out the team. Oregon’s Sam Crouser got second in the men’s Javelin but is not eligible to compete at London as he did not reach the Olympic “A” Standard.

Oregon volleyball setter August Raskie shines both on and off the court for her athletic prowess and her artistic sense of creativity that makes her who she is. According to Raskie’s 2017 teammate, Maggie Scott, “August is a super athletic player… As a person, she is a really unique character. Cascades Raptor Center trainer Carrie Lorenz brings Taka, a Swainson’s Hawk, out of their enclosure. Taka was taken into human care as an adult at UC Davis’s Veterinary School’s Raptor Center back in 2001. Taka came to the Cascades Raptor Center in April of 2003, joining their ambassador team.
