Another historic day at Hayward Field for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials as Ashton Eaton, a former Oregon Duck and Oregon Track Club Elite, sets the decathlon world record in front a crowd of 21,795 — a Hayward Field attendance record. The women’s 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles teams for London were set and the men’s 100-meter dash qualifiers show Gay and Gatlin as leaders.

Oregon volleyball setter August Raskie shines both on and off the court for her athletic prowess and her artistic sense of creativity that makes her who she is. According to Raskie’s 2017 teammate, Maggie Scott, “August is a super athletic player… As a person, she is a really unique character. Cascades Raptor Center trainer Carrie Lorenz brings Taka, a Swainson’s Hawk, out of their enclosure. Taka was taken into human care as an adult at UC Davis’s Veterinary School’s Raptor Center back in 2001. Taka came to the Cascades Raptor Center in April of 2003, joining their ambassador team.
