This Thanksgiving, hundreds of thousands of people across the nation will go hungry. One in 10 households in the United States are living with hunger or are at risk of hunger. In Lane County, 46,702 people live below the poverty line, according to FOOD for Lane County.
Almost 30 percent of Oregonians say they do not earn enough money to adequately feed their families and that they rely on food banks to put food on the table, according to the Oregon Food Bank.
This Thanksgiving, do your part. Help those who are less fortunate by donating food and time to the appropriate locations.
