Saturday, EVOLUTION will strike campus.
The all-ages show at Agate Hall “is designed to bring artists of different talents together with a focus around music,” said Jake Weaver, a spokesman for LightWorker Nonprofit Productions, the company producing the show. The four musical groups that will perform focus on different genres: The headlining band, Luminous Fog, tackles hip-hop/funk/reggae; Lucidic focuses on electro funk fusion; Ronin Ichikawa is traditional hip-hop; and Basin and Range is progressive Americana-jazz funk, according to a news release.
“The idea is to bring different crowds together to celebrate our common love of life and music, in addition to the fact that the performers are extremely talented,” Weaver said.
The show will also feature spoken-word artist Brad Wilson and live painting by artist John Kelly. Patrons who donate 10 canned goods for the event’s Food for Lane County food drive will receive a signed poster.
Tickets are $10 and are available at House of Records, CD/Game Exchange and the EMU box office. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 6:30 show.
