For those of you who are traveling to Portland for spring break and are in need of a baseball fix, here’s the perfect event. Over three days from March 20-22, the Oregon Ducks will be a part of the Rose City Invitational at PGE Park. The team will play the Portland Pilots, Pacific-10 rival Washington, and Hawaii.
The first game begins March 20 at 7 p.m., and the games begin at 11 a.m. on March 21. It will be a good opportunity for Duck fans from the Portland area to see the new team in action during their historic season, and build excitement for the coming MLB season the following week.

Oregon (5-2) will play a Colgate team that could very well be 7-2 when it takes on the Ducks. The teams have a 2-2 record against each other, with the Ducks winning the last two. The Raiders have won three straight games going into two matches this week against St. Mary’s and UC Davis before meeting up with the Ducks. The Raiders have outscored their opponents by an average of more than five goals per game and have taken 71 more shots on the season than opponents. Oregon freshman Catherine Davidson is 10th in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with 2.67 points per game and senior defender Alicia Burkhart leads the conference with 3.17 ground balls per game.

The Oregon men boast two national championships this season, in cross country and indoor track. The Oregon women finished second and ninth, respectively, at the national events. Now they’ll be really focused, with the outdoor track season upon us. The Oregon Preview is the first in a series of sure-to-be-exciting events at Hayward Field, including the Pacific-10 Conference Championships and NCAA
West Regionals.
The meet hosts several smaller schools from Oregon ranging from NAIA to Division I to Hayward Field.

Oregon’s men’s and women’s golf teams host their only home tournaments of the season next week in their separate events in the area.
Shadow Hills Golf Course is located near Junction City, a 10-minute drive from Eugene, while the men play in town at Eugene Country Club. The 15th annual women’s tournament will host 11 teams and begin each day at 8:30 a.m.
In their last tournament, the men’s team took first at the Braveheart Classic in Beaumont, Calif., winning the 18-team field. Freshman Robbie Ziegler led Oregon with a tie for second place.
