Postponing the ASUO elections is absolutely unheard of. Students have been aware of the Thursday 5 p.m. deadline since the beginning of this entire process. In addition, all campaigns have budgeted and planned on this deadline, as it is clearly outlined in the elections rules. The constituency for which these elections are supposedly being postponed do not actually pay the whole I-fee. In no ASUO election have they been granted the ability to vote, as they are not formally admitted students at UO. Part of the privilege of voting in the ASUO elections is not only paying the entire I-fee, but full University tuition as well. Changing this process at the last moment in the middle of elections is irresponsible and violates the rights of all full I-fee-paying UO students.
Postponing ASUO elections unprecedented, inappropriate
