The No. 25 Oregon women’s golf team is in ninth place after one round of play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
The Ducks, who posted a first-round score of 11 over par, trail Arkansas (-11), Washington (+6), Louisville (+7), Arizona (+7), Kent State (+8), UNLV (+8), Colorado State (+10), and Missouri (+10).
Raphaela Dyer led Oregon with an opening-round score of two under par. Dyer is in a tie for sixth place in the individual competition, trailing Emily Tubert of Arkansas by seven strokes. Dyer birdied five of her first 10 holes before cooling off down the stretch.
Kendra Little had the second best round of the day for Oregon at two over par. A double bogey on the par-4 fifth hole hurt Little, who was otherwise solid.
Monika Graf finished at five over par after finishing her round with one double-bogey, four bogeys and one birdie.
Avery Sills and Ashley Edwards both checked in at six over par for the Ducks.
Round two of the tournament, played at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., will tee off today.
