After a strong showing at the Mustang Classic this weekend, the Oregon women’s softball team jumped one spot up to No. 14 in the NFCA Coaches Poll Tuesday afternoon.
The Ducks (28-4) picked up four wins in their final preseason tournament, which extended their winning streak to 12 games heading into Pacific-10 Conference play at Washington on Friday night.
Oregon has been ranked in the top 15 for eight consecutive weeks, and has defeated four ranked opponents during that time. The Ducks beat then-No. 16 BYU (Feb. 10), then-No. 19 Texas A&M (Feb. 11), then-No. 9 Hawaii (Feb. 19) and then-No. 17 Louisiana-Lafayette (March 5), with their last loss coming against top-ranked Alabama on March 5.
Other Pac-10 opponents ranked in the top 25 this week include No. 4 Arizona State, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 UCLA, No. 9 Arizona, No. 10 California and No. 12 Stanford.
Alabama (27-4), Georgia (33-2) and Michigan (31-2) rounded out the top three in both major polls.
