In the final regular season match of the 2016 season, the Oregon Ducks beach volleyball team fell 3-2 to Washington in Seattle.
Oregon now falls to 2-8 on the season. The program will compete in the inaugural Pac-12 Championships in Los Angeles beginning April 28.
Against the Huskies, Oregon found itself ahead at first. Lauren Page and Maddy Silberger-Franek won 21-18, 21-19 at the No. 4 spot. Washington then took the N0. 5 spot in two sets 21-17, 21-18.
Oregon came back to win the No. 3 set behind Taylor Agost and Amanda Benson in three sets, 21-16, 19-21, 16-14. UW netted the match back up at 2-2 with a win on No. 1 against Oregon’s Kacey Nady and Liz Brenner.
The action was tied going into the final matchup, in which Oregon’s Martenne Bettendorf and Lindsey Vander Weide lost to Cassie Strickland and Courtney Schwan 21-17, 21-19. That win clinched the match for the host Huskies.
