– On Monday, Oregon men’s basketball jumped up to No. 16 in the AP Top 25 Poll after sweeping the Arizona schools. Dillon Brooks brought home a few pieces of hardware, including Pac-12 player of the week and national player of the week, according to three separate organizations. The Ducks are flying high, thanks in large part to Chris Boucher’s work down low. They host Colorado on Thursday at Matthew Knight Arena.
– Oregon football is expected to sign another top–20 overall recruiting class today as part of National Signing Day. Four-star running back recruit Vavae Malepeai will announce today whether he will attend USC or Oregon, similar to the National Signing Day decision De’Anthony Thomas made in 2011.
– On Tuesday — the eve of National Signing Day — former four-star quarterback recruit Morgan Mahalak announced via his Twitter account his intention to transfer from the Ducks’ football program.
– The Oregon softball program afforded local media a chance to tour the under-construction Jane Sanders Stadium on Tuesday. The Emerald‘s Adam Eberhardt put together a gallery of all the action. Ryan Thorburn of the Register-Guard wrote that the stadium is on schedule to open on March 24.
– Oregon women’s basketball point guard Maite Cazorla was named Pac-12 freshman of the week on Monday. She has dazzled as of late for the Ducks, who have won four of their last five games heading into this weekend’s road trip. After her first year, Cazorla will have a deep group of support coming in this summer.
– Itohan Aikhionbare transferred from UC Irvine to Oregon track and field and is already feeling at home in Eugene.
