Videographers are essential visionaries at the Daily Emerald. They work closely with writers and reporters on the front lines to bring written stories to life. Videographers are always on the watch for news — either stories within the UO community, the greater Eugene area or statewide. At the Daily Emerald, the videographers are independent, creative visual storytellers who capture critical moments.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with reporters and writers, or work independently to develop story pitches

Film and edit bi-weekly short videos on deadline

Do basic footage color correction

Work with the Daily Emerald’s video team on large reporting projects. Past examples include covering wildfires, marches and protests

Attend weekly desk and all-staff meetings

Other relevant tasks as assigned
Qualifications:

Open to all majors: applicants need to provide minimum of 3 video examples to demonstrate video skills

Proficient editing experience with any of the following editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer

Experience filming content using DSLR and mirrorless cameras
