Oregon baseball is ranked 15th in the first preseason Collegiate Baseball poll with 462 points.
The Ducks are the second-ranked team in the Pac-12, trailing UCLA (no. 10, 473 points). Reigning national champion Vanderbilt sits atop the rankings with 494 points.
Following a trip to the NCAA Regionals and a 44-20 record, the Ducks will once again attempt to reach the College World Series in Omaha. They will join seven other teams in a bid to eclipse the 40-win mark for a fourth consecutive season.
Oregon returns 11 position players, including three starters, eight of 15 pitchers and three redshirts.
Despite losing closer Jake Reed (4-1, 1.95 ERA, 13 saves) and starter Tommy Thorpe (11-4, 2.14 ERA) to the MLB Draft, the Ducks return redshirt sophomore Cole Irvin, who missed most of the 2014 season due to his Tommy John surgery. Collegiate Baseball named Irvin a preseason second-team All-American along with catcher Shaun Chase.
The season begins with a four-game series at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu on Feb. 13.
