Game 1
Oregon’s Alex Keudell and Stanford counterpart Mark Appel each turned in sensational pitching performances as the Ducks eked out a 4-2, extra-innings win Friday night at Sunken Diamond.@@http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=11401&DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=205413625@@

Game 2
The Ducks picked up the series win with a 5-0 victory on Saturday. Freshman Jake Reed tossed seven shutout innings for the Ducks before handing over the ball to Jeff Gold, who gave up just one hit in completing the shutout for the Ducks. The Ducks took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, once again capitalizing on Cardinal mistakes. Aaron Payne started the rally with a one-out double before Stanford’s Brett Mooneyham issued three free passes to the Ducks on two walks and a hit batsmen. Oregon scored via a bases-loaded walk and a passed ball.@@see above@@
An inning later first basemen Ryon Healy launched a two-out, three-run home run to put the Ducks up 5-0. It was Healy’s third long ball of the season.@@this would be just 3 rbis, though, correct? unless we are talking total (4), which is an odd way of putting it@@

With one out and runners on second and third, Stanford’s Stephen Piscotty hit a pop fly into foul territory, but with Oregon catcher Brett Hambright leaving the plate to track down the fly ball, Doran was able to score easily from third.@@see above@@
The Ducks showed life in the ninth, loading the bases on two singles and a hit batsman, but Healy flew out to the deepest part of the ballpark to end the game.
The Ducks return to the Willamette Valley this week for a Monday night game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and a Wednesday night matchup against the Portland Pilots at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer. Oregon hosts Washington State beginning Friday for a three-game set this weekend.
