Take a Minute is a (sometimes) daily post that will catch you up on Internet happenings on campus and around the world.
Need money for a Sasquatch ticket? Spring break in Mexico? Or maybe you’re just low on beer money. $500 in cash couldn’t hurt. Like the Oregon Daily Emerald on Facebook, and post your favorite meme on our wall. If your post gets the most likes, the cash is yours.
In case you haven’t heard, there’s a popular UO Memes page that has blown up with 4,739 likes and counting in the past week. In honor of the page I’ve compiled the best memes using a complicated mathematic formula based on correct usage of the meme, campus relevance and general awesomeness. There were some really good ones that didn’t make the cut because they applied to all colleges, not just Oregon. With that, lets get started.
Full disclosure: The last one is mine, but I thought it was worthy. Overall, pretty good stuff considering 95 percent of the student body does not understand memes. I did have to sift through countless terrible memes to find the good ones. There’s potential for a list of the worst memes too, but I won’t subject anyone to that torture. Although there has been a drop off in quality, plenty of good ones are still being posted so hopefully there’s enough content for me to put together another list in a week or two.
