The entire city of Eugene, Ore. went numb this weekend when the No. 2 ranked Ducks fell to the No. 13 Stanford Cardinal in a 17-14 upset. After stealing both the national title hopes and dreams of an undefeated season, Stanford crushed much of what could’ve happened for the Ducks this year.
There isn’t too much to say after such a devastating loss, but our very own Matt Walks reflects upon arguably the worst loss in Oregon football since losing to Auburn in the National Championship game in 2011.

With No. 1 Kansas State falling to an unranked Baylor team and No. 2 Oregon losing an overtime heartbreaker to No. 13 Stanford, that only mean’t one thing and one thing only. The previously No. 3 ranked Notre Dame is now on top of the college football world as they move up to No. 1 by default as they remain the only defeated team eligible for post season play.

After much anticipation and expectation, Jordan Hasay of the Oregon Cross Country team led her team to their first NCAA national title since 1987 and third overall. As a senior, Hasay couldn’t have asked for a better outing before making her exit out of collegiate competition and she can safely say that she has left her mark in Oregon athletics after her four years here.

In an effort to redeem themselves after a loss at home, the now No. 5 Ducks are set to face off against one of the surprise teams in the Pac-12 in the No. 16 ranked Oregon State Beavers. As Ducks fans continue to remorse over a Stanford loss, it is good to know that there are still important games left ahead that could help bring the Ducks back into the mix.
