The University’s official athletics website received a makeover during the night, going live this morning with a sleeker, more polished look to better integrate social media.
One major new feature of the website is the athletic department’s Quack Cave. The stream of social media news keeps tabs on all official Oregon Twitters, including its sports teams, cheerleaders, administrators and other personnel. Selected student-athletes are also included in the feed.
A separate feed follows all Twitter mentions of the hashtag #GoDucks.
The modular design of the home page offers easy-to-read schedules with the rest of its news, however ticket distribution, including student ticket distribution, will still be done through the athletic department’s ticket provider, which is a separate website, according to senior associate athletic Director Craig Pintens.
Reaction on Twitter has been mostly positive:
Truth RT @_willrubin: Goducks.com wins the award for best website redesign I’ve seen in a long time. Sorry, Gawker.

Great new look to GoDucks.com! Great work @chostetler15, it’s much cleaner. I like that the sports menu shows the active sports 1st
