Missing girl’s body found, suspect arrested
Gresham resident, Jonathan Holt, 24, was arrested on Friday for the murder of Whitney Heichel, reported The Oregonian.
Holt was transferred to the Clackamas County Jail on Sunday, after officials believed the murder happened in Clackamas County. He is being held without bail and will be arraigned on Monday.
Oregon biologist killed in Highway 126 accident
Prineville resident Crystal Ann Strobl, 35, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 126, near Redmond on Saturday, reported KMTR.com.
Strobl was a wildlife biologist for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Portland woman missing
Portland resident Elizabeth Hoppes, 47, was reported missing from her North Portland Arbor Lodge neighborhood since Friday morning, reported KGW.
Hoppes is 135 pounds, 5 feet 2 inches, has brown hair, brown eyes, and has “medical issues.”
Hillsboro prepares for growth
The City of Hillsboro’s planning commission predicted a 92 percent employment growth from 2010 to 2035, and held a four-hour meeting on future development, reported The Oregonian.
By 2035, Hillsboro will have thousands of additional industrial and manufacturing jobs and a new residential community.
Eugene firefighter training event
The Goshen Fire Department held its annual training event this weekend at the B & R Autowrecking yard in Eugene, reported KEZI News.
Around 30 fire departments from all over Oregon trained for car accident rescue missions.
