Rexius Forest By-Products plant catches fire
Shortly before midnight Thursday a resident who lived near Rexius Forest By-Products heard explosions and immediately called 9-1-1. When fire crews responded they found the building engulfed in flames.
According to KEZI the building was destroyed but fire crews were able to minimize damage of surrounding buildings and vehicles.
Investigations are underway in order to determine the cause of the fire.
Oregon forests burn, which creates problems for hunters
Hunters planning on enjoying the start of deer season may not be able get access to many private forests because of extremely dry conditions.

Eugene man arrested after breaking into a Springfield home
Douglas Brian Bennett, 46, is being held in the Springfield Jail after being charged with trespass and interfering with a police officer early Friday morning.
The owner of the house heard a door being opened and saw a person approach her whom she did not know. The owner’s husband came to assist his wife while the suspect, later identified as Bennett, fled the property.
According to the Register-Guard, numerous officers and a police dog arrived at the scene. Police located the suspect but were unable to coax him out of his hiding spot. When the police dog began barking, Bennett came out of some nearby bushes and was arrested.
Fire burns in the Coburg Hills
An 18-acre fire is burning off McGowan Road in the Coburg Hills. The fire’s cause, which was reported late Thursday night, according to The Register Guard, is still under investigation.
Crews have bulldozed around the perimeter with hopes to prevent further damage of the replanted forest land.
