It’s Friday night and you and your friends are looking for something to do and want to have fun, but the main problem is everyone in the group is under 21 and can’t venture out to bars around Eugene.
So what is there to do exactly?
Luckily, there are plenty of fun underage activities to do while not spending all the money that your parents and grandparents sent over since moving into the dorms.
One place to check out is just near Highway 99, Putters, a family entertainment center that houses not only an expansive indoor mini-golf course but a bowling alley, arcade center, pool tables and laser tag that will keep everyone busy all under one roof, especially when the weather doesn’t want to cooperate.
For those who enjoy checking out local bands or bigger names, the McDonald Theatre in downtown Eugene is the place to be to see your favorite bands in an intimate atmosphere.
Located on 1010 Willamette Street, this historic landmark that opened in 1925 hosts acts ranging from reggae to comedians and musical acts such as upcoming shows by Beach House (September 29th) and Macklemore (October 20th).
Hunger suddenly strikes and Carson dorm food simply won’t cut it anymore; you’re craving for something sweet and yet out of the ordinary. A quick drive to 2540 Willamette Street will bring you to Off the Waffle, which serves great quality Liège waffles (richer and sweeter Belgian waffles), a Eugene staple and must-visit for students.
Don’t be boring and order plain waffles with maple syrup and whipped cream. Their large menu ranges from The Overachiever (chocolate sauce and bananas) and The Fruit Party (collection of fresh fruit on whipped cream) to dishes like waffles with a sunny-side up egg, bacon and maple syrup and will satisfy any taste buds.
Enjoying yourself in Eugene on a Friday night (while under 21)
