The day before a game is always a slow news day, and today is no exception. By now, you’ve probably seen The Duck — née Puddles — in one of this year’s pump-up videos released by the athletic department. In a parody of “Gangnum Style”, a wacky Korean song with a wackier music video, Oregon’s mascot dances and prances through a variety of randomness. The reaction it’s received online has been tremendous, with USA Today calling it “perfect.” If you haven’t caught it yet, enjoy.

The athletic department issued its annual press release reminding media and supporters of its routine security policies. New this year is an implementation of the University’s ban on tobacco to enhance fans’ “game-day experience.”
“The decision was made to reduce the risks of second-hand smoke exposure and to provide a healthier environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors, including spectators in Autzen Stadium,” reads the release.

Finally, during yesterday’s opening slate of college football, the Pac-12 was just as busy as every other conference.
Arizona State throttled Northern Arizona 63-6, meaning for this brief moment of time, Arizona State has the most prolific offense in the FBS. UCLA and Utah dominated in traditional, nonconference routs as well. The biggest surprise was Washington State, who came out flat against BYU en route to a 30-6 loss in Mike Leach’s first game as coach of the Cougars. The beatdown in Provo, Utah, wasn’t an earth-shattering shock, but given the media attention the high-profile Leach draws to his squads, it made waves around the country.
