Oregon’s men’s and women’s tennis teams combined to go 3-0 in their spring season-opening slate of matches on Friday.

The men’s doubleheader sweep was highlighted by the play of No. 1 singles player Alex Rovello. Rovello won all four of his matches (two singles, two doubles) in straight sets, and let an all-around dominant effort by the Ducks.
Meanwhile, the women’s team was nearly as dominant in its victory over the Pilots. The only Duck to drop a match was No. 4 singles player Trudie Du Toit, while Sofia Hager, Rabea Stuckemann, and Haley Driver won their singles matches in straight sets. No. 1 singles player Julia Metzger and No. 2 player Patricia Skowronski each won in three sets.
The men will continue their season on Saturday when they host Idaho, while the women will visit the University of the Pacific on Friday.
