Students have three more days to file to run for ASUO office, and many positions are still open.
Ten positions in the upcoming student government elections have no declared candidates and another five have one candidate running unopposed as of Tuesday morning, according to elections officials.
The open positions include three Senate seats: One on the Programs Finance Committee, one representing journalism and education students and one representing architecture and allied arts students.
There are also at-large positions open on the PFC, the EMU Board of Directors and the Athletic Department Finance Committee. Seats on the Associated Students Presidential Advisory Council and the Student Recreation Center Advisory Board are also without candidates.
Races with one candidate running unopposed include an at-large seat on the PFC, senate seats representing business administration and science students, and senate seats on the EMU Board and the ADFC.
All of the unopposed candidates are running on the Rock the Yellow slate, which is managed by ASUO Finance Coordinator Matt Rose and has the ASUO Multicultural Advocate Kari Herinckx as its presidential candidate.
Most positions offer a stipend.
For more information or to file, stop by the ASUO office in Suite 4 of the EMU.
