Cattermole wants to get everyone involved by spreading the “thunder love.” He believes people will care more about the ASUO if they join clubs and get involved.
Qualifications:
Very good at talking to people, is friendly, has great fashion sense.
How do you propose increasing interest in the ASUO to ensure quality candidates for open positions?
Sex sells. We could get more interest in student government by increasing diversity in ASUO candidates. Students should feel like they can make a difference and can become an ASUO member.
What do you think about current student oversight of the Student Recreation Center?
It’s all right, but it could be better. It’s costing a lot of money, but a lot of people do use it. We’d have to balance out people, numbers.
Do you believe the student government should expand as proposed by recent changes to the Green Tape Notebook?
If they expanded, it would be good if more people got involved, but not if expansion was just by adding more groups which could lead to more special interest and agendas.
What changes would you make to the proposal for student ticket distribution?
I don’t like how freshmen are so readily available to get the tickets because upper-classman don’t live on campus and can’t go to the EMU in five minutes. That leads to camping out, and I’m not a fan of camping out because this outfit doesn’t go well with camping out if it’s cold. It’s good for now, but I don’t want to see it come to a raffle or a lottery. Football is all right, and maybe the most fun students have all year, but things need to change with the Pit Crew. Pit Crew problems probably occurred because freshmen were there, and they are a little immature and say racist and homophobic remarks. I think if we got more fans in, we could make a difference without having to be rude or vulgar.
