The Oregon women’s lacrosse team set a new program record this week despite ending its season on May 2.
Twelve members of the team were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic team for their performances on and off the field. Each member made the team after meeting the prerequisites of maintaining a 3.0 grade point average, were at least of sophomore standing academically, completed one year at Oregon and played in at least half of Oregon’s games.
Seniors Carrie Bateman, Jenny Browne, Lindsay Killian, Liora Lobel, Jen May and redshirt junior Annay Poponyak made the list for the third time in their careers.
Senior Theresa Waldron and juniors Alicia Burkhart, Erin Gaebe and Cara Mead received the honor for the second time, while junior Ilsa van den Berg and sophomore Kaitlyn Pasko were first-time honorees.
May was also named as a third-team All-American by WomensLacrosse.com yesterday. She holds five all-time Oregon statistical records in her career.
