The Athletic Department Finance Committee is close to a decision on the electronic distribution of tickets, according to committee chairman Sen. Kyle McKenzie.
The committee negotiates student ticket prices with the athletic department. On Wednesday night McKenzie will present a plan to the Student Senate to distribute tickets in a tier system.
Under the proposed plan, fifth-year seniors would have first access to tickets online. Five percent of the tickets would be available to them. Seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshman would follow, with more tickets made available as each group is given access to them.
McKenzie will also discuss the committee’s budget with the Senate. The budget will be voted on next week.
The ADFC will ask for the same amount of money it has for the current year – roughly $1.4 million – and will put some of it aside to keep its budget steady in the 2009-10 fiscal year, McKenzie said.
There will be six home football games next year, down from seven this year. In 2009-10 the number will go back up to seven, and McKenzie has said that decreasing the budget for next year would require too large an increase in 2009.
