We headed out to Mount Pisgah to get some shots of changing leaves to alert any readers oblivious of their surroundings that we are indeed in the middle of the fall season. But by the time we got there, there were about 5 minutes of sunlight left, and what little remained had already left the foot of the hill, moving up the slope to where the sun could still see the butte. Attempting to catch the last few rays, I grabbed my camera and ran up the hill chasing after the greenery that was still lit up gold. I got a few shots of your standard red and yellow trees and leaf covered trails, but the light quickly faded. As I started running back down the trail, a deer and her two fawns jumped out of the bushes across my path. I stopped running and started inching my way towards them to try and get some pictures. They must have been used to the heavy pedestrian traffic of the butte because they let me get within 50 feet or so before moving on. The deer were much more interesting subjects than the dried leaves, and I had fun following them around in the bushes for a good 20 minutes before finally heading back to the car.
