A University graduate student will showcase his musical dynamism this weekend in his master’s degree recital.
Nolan R. Stolz, a music composition major, will perform his rythmic fusion of jazz, classical and rock beats. The free concert includes chamber orchestra sets, solo bass and harp pieces and an electronic solo, among others.
Stolz has dazzled music enthusiasts around the world with his performances, playing at notable events, such as the Oregon Bach Festival, Music Today Festival and Las Vegas International New Music Festivals. He has a half-dozen awards recognizing his progressive touch and has performed in Germany and Austria.
Uzbekitan City Life Magazine said Stolz’s chamber music has “elements of opera…filled with the genuine spirit of late 1960s art rock.”
Stolz recently finished pieces from Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” which he will play at the Boston Conservatory next month, according to the event’s press release.
