It was another rough weekend for the men’s and women’s tennis teams, as they went winless in three total matches.
The men played once over the weekend, traveling to Provo, Utah, for a neutral-site match against No. 36 Nebraska on Friday.
Though the match began on a positive note with the Ducks winning the doubles point, the momentum quickly shifted.
The Cornhuskers swept through singles play, clinching a decisive 6-1 victory. Only one singles match lasted more than two sets, as Nebraska’s Christopher Aumueller defeated Oregon senior Marcos Verdasco 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
The men are now 11-4 overall, with Pacific-10 Conference play set to begin next weekend.
The women, meanwhile, traveled to Arizona for two Pac-10 Conference matches.
The first, against No. 32 Arizona State on Friday, did not go well. The Ducks were swept 7-0, and did not win a match in singles or doubles play.
The team travelled to Tucson on Saturday, where things did not improve much. The Ducks lost the doubles point early on, and won just two singles matches en route to a 5-2 loss at the hands of No. 59 Arizona.
Oregon remains winless in the Pac-10 at 0-4 and is 5-11 overall.
