The Oregon men’s golf team finished its second day at The Prestige at PGA West golf tournament in a three-way tie with UC Davis and the University of Central Florida for seventh place overall.
Oregon battled the Southern California elements, playing in 100-degree heat throughout the day with relatively no wind factoring into play.
The Ducks completed their second day of competition shooting a team score of 298, trailing Cal, Stanford, Washington, San Diego, Arizona State and Vanderbilt in the team standings.
Individually, Oregon junior Daniel Miernicki led the Ducks on the opening day by shooting a 1-under 71 first round, but it was fellow senior Isaiah Telles that paced Oregon on Monday.
After a 5-over 77 opening round, Telles shot a team-best 1-over 73 to bring his two-day total to 150, which sits him in a tie for 34th overall, 14 places higher than his 48th-place finish on Sunday.
Miernicki still heads the Ducks on the individual leader board. His 3-over 75 second round puts him in a tie for 17th, down nine spots from the previous day. Junior Eugene Wong trails Miernicki by two places after shooting a 2-over 74 second round.
Junior Robbie Ziegler and senior Jack Dukeminier finished out the Oregon scoring, carding 4-over 76 and 9-over 81 on the day, respectively.
The Ducks will tee off for their third and final round of action tomorrow afternoon.
