Good morning! It’s Wednesday Dec. 1.
Our Arts & Culture section covered a non-profit organization called Eugene Darkroom Group (EDG) that gathers film photographers inside the Maude Kerns Art Center. The EDG helps its members publish their work and place it in local galleries. They also teach members to be better photographers with classes for all experience levels. One of the members said “he benefited from Hansen [the president] being there for him every step of the way and critiquing the areas he needed to improve in.” Community is a building block of the organization. Another member, Dawn Georgeson, said they admire “the ‘intimate’ atmosphere of the dark room.” If you’re interested, members sign up online and pay a $30-$40 fee per month. Otherwise, walk to the little yellow house on 15th Avenue and Villard Street to see their work.
Today’s newsletter is short and sweet. Hopefully, this recommendation can be your study break.
Sincerely,
Sage
