The Oregon soccer team played their last home match of the season and final match at Pape Field on Sunday, October 30, 2011, falling to the no. 1 Stanford Cardinal 2-0 in front of 700 fans on Senior Day. The Cardinal controlled possession for most of the game but the Ducks were able to hold off the attack, having multiple opportunities themselves. The battle was truly won by Stanford in the midfield, bringing numbers back and slowing the Ducks down before they had any chance of using their speedy forwards up top. Stanford capitalized on defensive lapses by the Ducks, scoring twice to seal the victory 2-0. With the win Stanford (18-0-1) clenches the Pac-12 title. The Ducks (8-9-2) will go on to face Oregon State Friday, November 4, in Corvallis.
