Oregon’s run in the Pac-12 Championships has come to an end. The No. 5 Ducks fell to No. 4 Stanford 4-0 in the second round in Ojai, California on Thursday.
Stanford won the doubles point with victories on courts No. 1 and 2, ending Oregon’s streak of 16 consecutive doubles victories. On Court No. 2, Stanford’s David Wilczynski and Nolan Paige defeated Daan Maasland and Simon Stevens 6-1. To clinch the doubles point for Stanford on court No. 1 No. 39-ranked Tom Fawcett and Maciek Romanowicz beat No. 35 Jayson Amos and Armando Soemarno, 6-4.
In singles, Amos defeated Paige 6-4, 6-4 on court No. 4. On court No. 5, Cormac Clissold lost to Romanowicz 6-4,6-4. To clinch the match, No. 12 Fawcett downed Maasland in straight sets on court No.1.
Oregon’s next game is dependent upon an NCAA Tournament bid. If the Ducks receive a bid, the NCAA regionals will be held May 13-14.
