Activist and feminist M. Jacqui Alexander will speak tonight at
7:30 p.m. in the EMU Ballroom.
The talk, entitled “Not Just
Anybody Can Be a Patriot: The Militarized State in the Age of Empire,” is free and open to the public.
Alexander will touch on topics related to the troubling shift in the meaning of patriotism.
The Center for the Study of Women in Society and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program are sponsoring the event.
