SENIOR POSITIONS
The news, sports, Pulse, photo, and graphics desks will each have a senior position operating under the editor of the desk. The senior position will have seniority on the desk, receive slightly higher pay, assist the desk editor, and will be specifically expected to:
— Fulfill all regular duties of the desk.
— Offer mentorship and advice to the other reporters, photographers or
designers on the desk.
— Undertake extra projects, larger assignments or special series as
determined by the desk editor.
— Learn the skills required to fill in for the editor when required.
— Manage the other employees on the desk as required by the desk editor.
— Attend required staff meetings and desk meetings.
— Keep regular office hours.
— Set individual goals each term to improve your journalistic skills.
Requirements: Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Oregon when the position begins.
