This morning, the Pac-12 conference named Oregon men’s basketball senior forward Mike Moser player of the week for his play during Feb. 24-Mar. 2. Athlon Sports also named Moser their National Player of the Week. Moser averaged 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4.5 assists against UCLA and USC, including 20 rebounds against the Trojans, which was the most for an Oregon player since Greg Ballard (20 rebounds) in 1977.
“Feels good,” Moser told reporters before practice Monday afternoon. “There were a lot of guys that played well last week too, so it’s a real honor to win that.”
For the redshirt senior, it was his first weekly Pac-12 honor since transferring from UNLV, where he finished with four Mountain West Conference player of the week awards. This was Oregon’s first Pac-12 player of the week award this season and first since E.J. Singler’s on Feb. 23, 2012.
“Oh wow, I didn’t know that,” Moser said after hearing it was Oregon’s first Pac-12 player of the week award this season. “Maybe a little bit (surprised), but it’s kind of a team effort.”
The Ducks will conclude the season with a two-game homestand against ASU and Arizona this week.
