With the Pac-12 Championship game set between No. 2 Oregon and No. 11 Arizona for Dec. 5 in Santa Clara, California, the Ducks (10-1, 7-1 Pac-12) must first take care of in-state rival Oregon State (5-6, 2-6 Pac-12). The kickoff for the 118th meeting of the Civil War, the longest played rivalry in the conference, is set for 5 p.m. and has multiple story lines to follow.
Oregon holds a 61-46-10 all-time advantage in the series and is currently in the midst of a six-game winning streak. Also, the Ducks are 28-18-5 in Corvallis, boasting a .598 winning percentage, better than the .544 winning percentage they have in Eugene.
Broadcast Information:
TV: ABC Network with Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe
Radio: Oregon IMG with Jerry Allen and Mike Jorgensen
Satellite Radio: Sirius 84, XM 84
Milestone Watch:
Marcus Mariota is five passing touchdowns away from reaching 100 in his career and being second in the Pac-12’s career passing touchdown list. Mariota is also 491 total yards away from reaching 12,000 in his career.
Royce Freeman is six rushing touchdowns away from breaking Oregon’s record of rushing touchdowns in a season. While that streak may not be in jeopardy tonight, with at least three games to play (including today), Freeman can definitely put a dent into the six remaining touchdowns left.
Mannion’s Farewell:
Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion will leave the Beavers and Pac-12 after this season as one of the best passing quarterbacks in conference history. Mannon is the Pac-12’s all-time passing leader with 13,438 yards and holds the Oregon State record with 82 career touchdowns. Unless Mannion and the Beavers can conjure up some late season magic and stun the Ducks, this will be the final game for Mannion and his illustrious career.
College Football Playoff or Bowl Eligible?
The Ducks, ranked No. 2 in the latest college football playoff, need a win over the Beavers to keep their spot in the inaugural playoff system, while Oregon State needs a win to reach six on the season and become bowl eligible. With something on the line for both teams, who will emerge victorious?
