Oregon women’s basketball’s Lexi Bando has been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for her performances against Fresno State and Santa Clara, the conference announced Monday.
It’s the first time this season an Oregon player has won either player of the week awards.
Bando, the Eugene native, averaged 20.5 points per game in the past week. She racked up 28 points against Santa Clara, going 11-for-16 from the field and 6-for-8 from three-point range. Her career-high performance powered the Ducks to a double overtime win, 92-88.
Last night, Bando finished with 13 points and four assists in the team’s loss to Fresno State.
She has started all 10 games for Kelly Graves and the Ducks this season. So far this season, the freshman is averaging 13.4 points per game.
Bando leads the team in three-point percentage at 52.1 percent on 25-of-48 from beyond the arc this season. She ranks second among the Ducks in field goal percentage at 44.2 percent.
The Ducks will return to the court next Sunday, Dec. 29 against Seattle U at Matthew Knight Arena at 4 p.m.
