Manager of Taylor’s Bar and Grill, Eric Clarke, said the fire on 13th Ave. was caused by one of Taylor’s Bar and Grill’s dryers.
The owner of Red Rooster Barber Shop, Pete Peterson, said wires in the wall where the dryer was located had melted wires to the washer next to it, causing water to spew out and extinguish the fire. Clarke and Peterson confirmed there is some smoke damage.
Peterson says that Eugene Springfield Fire is working to minimize the smoke.
Clarke said that Taylor’s still plans to be open for dollar beers tonight.
