Oregon football’s offensive lineman Jamal Prater and receiver B.J. Kelley have both decided to forgo playing their senior seasons, a university spokesman told The Oregonian’s Andrew Greif, who first reported the news Thursday afternoon.
Both players were backups who hadn’t seen much of the field in their respective careers.
Kelley was a former four-star recruit from Fresno, California, who finished his career with seven catches for 116 yards. His best season was when he was a redshirt freshman in 2011, scoring two touchdowns for the Ducks.
Prater, out of Etiwanda, California, played in nine games in his career at University of Oregon. He joined the program as the No. 73 offensive tackle in his class.
Both players are just the latest Ducks who have decided to step away from football, joining offensive lineman Andre Yruretagoyena and defensive lineman Sam Kamp.
