After three rounds at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville, Tenn., the University of Oregon women’s golf team finished in 12th place. Falling two spots at the end of round three, the Ducks shot 24-over-par 312 on Sunday at the Legend North Course in rough weather conditions as heavy winds and humidity plagued the Nashville area.
Arizona (298-286-305-889) ended up on top as they won the tournament, with a score that was the highest in the 12-year history of the tournament. Virginia (300-295-297-892) finished in second place after shooting 9-over-par 297 on day three and Michigan State (302-294-301-897) followed in third after shooting 33-over-par on their final round of play.
In an otherwise disappointing finish, freshman Caroline Inglis (77-71-78-226) led the way, placing in a tie for 17th place, shooting 6-over-par 78 in the final round of play. Sophomore Monica Petchakan also finished strong as she ended up with the lowest score in the final round for the Ducks, shooting 4-over-par 76, which was good for a 51st-place tie. The Ducks also counted scorecards from Cassy Isagawa (T34th- 73-77-80-230) and senior Hanule Sky Seo (T60-82-78-78-238) as they concluded the Mason Rudolph Championship with their respective finishes.
Here are the complete hole-by-hole results.
Takeaways: “I felt solid about my tournament because I got in the top 20,” Inglis said after the tournament. ”But there is definitely a lot I can take from the tournament and improve on. I believe that we can be one of the best teams in the country so we just need to figure out and practice harder.”
On the horizon: After a two-week break, the Ducks will be heading to a three-day tournament in Sammamish, Wash., for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Oct. 8 to Oct. 10.
