Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow, along with tours for the public.
The ribbon-cutting will take place at 3 p.m. Friday at 3333 RiverBend Drive in Springfield.
The event will include the lighting of a mission flame, an interfaith blessing and a choral group performance of “This House of Peace” by composer Ralph Johnson, according to PeaceHealth spokeswoman Andrea Ash.
Open house tours will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., immediately following the ceremony.
Public tours will continue through the weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The new state-of-the-art hospital will have 386 private rooms with views of the McKenzie River and ADA-approved bathrooms.
The hospital also has a helipad large enough to accommodate a Black Hawk helicopter, nearly 2,800 parking spaces and costs $367 million, according to its website.
