Two Ducks competed on the final day of action at the World Junior Track and Field Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, over the weekend.
Freshman distance runner Alexandra Kosinski finished sixth in the women’s 1,500m final in a time of 4:21.26.
“Even on the last lap I felt good, and then all that moving and jostling got to me in the end and I couldn’t finish,” Kosinski said in a release. “I’m not very happy with my result.”
Freshman teammate Matt Centrowitz finished 11th in the men’s 5,000m with a personal best of 13:58.31.
Overall, the U.S. led all countries in the medal count with 17 (11 gold, four silver and two bronze). Kenya was second with 11 medals.
