Despite a rocky second set with extra-points and a third-set blow out by Colorado, No. 14 Oregon recovered in the fourth to take the match 3-1 (25-19, 32-30, 14-25 and 25-16). The Ducks are now 5-2 in conference play and the win was also their third consecutive on the road.
Senior right-side hitter and Colorado local August Raskie earned her first career triple-double with 41 assists, 11 digs and a career-high 10 kills. Senior Lindsey Vander Weide led the Ducks in kills with 17 and junior Taylor Borup followed with 14. Camryn Tastad and Ronika Stone both earned career-highs in digs with 16 and 2 digs, respectively.
After a 25-19 finish in the first set, the Buffs returned ready to challenge the Ducks for a second-set win. Oregon took the lead early with a five-point streak, pulling away from Colorado. The Buffs took their first lead at 14-13 and switched leads with the Ducks five times. Twelve possessions passed 25-25, the Ducks pulled ahead to take the 32-30 set victory.
Fired up from a close second set and trailing 0-2, Colorado opened the third with a four-point streak to pull away from Oregon early. The Ducks were unable to earn a lead and finished the set 11 points behind their unranked opponent 14-25.
Following Colorado’s third-set blowout, the Ducks recovered in the fourth, pulling away from the Buffs at 12-8. Oregon only allowed eight more points the rest of the match, winning the set 25-16.
The Ducks will travel to Utah on Sunday to play the Utes at 11 a.m. PT.
