Left: Temperatures dropped into the 40s as the cardboard signs of peace rally participants took center stage in the EMU amphitheater Thursday afternoon. Right: Offering what they deemed an alternative view of peace, the small band of counter-protesters chose to express their opinions with signs stating “Peace through superior firepower,” “4 more years,” and “Gave peace a chance.” French major Melissa Tucker, in black, said she was attending the rally because people don’t understand that peace sometimes lies on the other side of war.
