Former Oregon safety Evan Williams was drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the 111th pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday. Williams, who spent one year at Oregon after four years at Fresno State, registered 49 tackles and one forced fumble in 2023.
Williams also added 4.5 sacks from safety last season, likely a draw as teams search for hidden gems in the later rounds of the draft. While he doesn’t necessarily have the stats that wow scouts, he’ll be a possible steal for the Packers, who look to further improve their secondary. Williams could slot in alongside star cornerback Jaire Alexander, and Ducks fans will want to keep an eye on the California native’s career as it begins in the NFL.
