Former Oregon pass rusher Brandon Dorlus is set for a professional career, after he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the 109th overall pick in the 4th round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday. Dorlus, who led the Ducks in 2023 with five sacks, was the first Oregon defender off the board.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native logged 12 sacks and 106 total tackles across five years with the Ducks, including a career-high 19 solo tackles in 2022 and at least 2.5 sacks in each of his final three seasons in Eugene. He projects as a physical, dynamic option who can attack the quarterback from across the defensive line.
Although he’s only listed at 6’3’’ and 290 lbs (smaller than many linemen in the league), he’ll be a versatile choice for the Falcons, who currently count Grady Jarrett and Ta’Quon Graham amongst their rushers. He lined up at defensive tackle and defensive end for the Ducks — and produced results from both spots. Whether or not he can replicate that in the league remains to be seen.
