Keys, a native of Sweet Home, Ore., tallied 3,900 points on Monday at Westmont College Track, trailing leader Chris Randolph by 20. Keys registered 23-11.75/7.31 meters in the long jump to match his all-conditions best. He finished second in the high jump, clearing 6-4/1.93m. In the 100-meters, Keys ran 11.22, along with 50.98 in the 400-meters. He threw 42-2/12.85 in the shot put.
Also competing for Oregon was freshman Alec Fellows, who sat in seventh place through five events with 3,668 points. The freshman finished fourth in both the 100 meters (11.17) and long jump (22-7/6.88m).
Six-time NCAA champion Brianne Theisen made her outdoors season debut on Monday. Competing in only a select handful of heptathlon events, Theisen won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.48 and the 200 meters in 24.21. In addition, Theisen set a heptathlon personal best in the shot put with a throw of 41-6/12.65 meters. She did not compete in the high jump.
